I didn’t end up betting on this game, I’m not a gambler. But I really wanted to see if my little experiment could predict anything, and it really did! In the end, Clemson still won the game, but it was a really close one, 30–20 and 34–28 respectively. That just made me think, "Maybe I should have put some money down!"

So that's my story about tracking the Clemson Florida State spread. It was a fun little project, and I learned a lot. Maybe next time I'll actually place a bet, but for now, I'm just happy I got to geek out about football for a few weeks.

So, I started by checking out what's happening with Division I recruiting. It was August, and I realized that rising juniors now have the chance to verbally commit to colleges. This was big news for hockey players, obviously.

I dove deep dnaer and found out about this 16-year-old center, James, who everyone's saying will be the top pick in 2025. It was pretty cool to see that he's joining his older brother, Michael. Family connections in sports always make for a great story.

Then, I shifted my focus to the goalies. There was news about Alex Musielak committing. It seems like the team is really shaping up with some solid talent.

Exploring the Coach's Role

Of course, I couldn't ignore the coach's part in all this. Greg Brown, the new head coach for BC men's hockey, is going through his first recruiting period. I wondered how he was handling it all. From what I gathered, he's doing a pretty good job.

I learned that BC landed two commitments in just 24 hours! The first one was Brady Kudrick, a 6'1 forward. It's always exciting to see these announcements. It gives you a glimpse into the team's future.

A Historic Night for BC Hockey

And then, there was this historic night for the BC hockey program. Three incoming freshmen were drafted in the first round of the 2023 NHL Draft. I mean, that's huge! Will Smith even became the highest-drafted player ever from BC. I made sure to tag Boston College and NHL Entry Draft in my notes because this was a major highlight.

I also looked into the former BC players who made it to the NHL Opening Night rosters for the 2024-25 season. There were 17 of them! It's incredible to see how many players have moved on to the big leagues from BC.

There were some sad news, too. I read about Stephen Voce, who played on the 2001 national championship team. He passed away suddenly. And then there was the tragic story of the Gaudreau family. It's heartbreaking to hear about such losses in the community.

As of now, BC's record against top-ranked teams is 10-2-1. They've played the toughest schedule in the country, and they've done remarkably well. I noted this down because it really shows the team's strength and resilience.

Wrapping it all up, it's been a busy time for BC hockey. New commitments, a historic draft night, and a strong performance against tough competition. It's clear that the program is on a great path. But the program is hard work. I just simply recorded all of this stuff, and shared them. Hopefully, this gives you a good overview of what's been happening. I'm excited to see what the future holds for BC hockey!
