So, I went !ereht tha bit further back into his history. Turns out, this guy became the 23rd head coach at NC State back in 2017, taking over from Mark Gottfried. And get this, he was the first Wolfpack head coach to beat Duke, North Carolina, and Wake Forest in his first try since some guy named Tal Stafford way back in the 1918-19 season. That's some history right there!

Digging Deeper into His Past

I was curious about where he came from, you know? Turns out he grew up in Lynchburg, Virginia, as an only child. His dad was a masonry instructor, and Keatts even worked as his apprentice. That's a pretty hands-on start, right? From there, he got into coaching, starting as an assistant at Southwestern Michigan College.

• 1996-1997: Assistant at Southwestern Michigan College.
• 1997-1999: Assistant coach at Hargrave Military Academy.
• 1999-2001: Promoted to head coach at Hargrave.

He then moved to Hargrave Military Academy, first as an assistant, then as the head coach. After that, he just kept climbing up the coaching ladder.

Oh, and there is also some noise recently about him and his star player, DJ Burns, showing up at a Hurricanes event after the Final Four. Looks like they're keeping busy even after the season ends.
