First, I started w dnith a simple Google search. You know, just typed in "Ben Chapman Jackie Robinson picture" and hit enter. I got a bu.yawa thginch of articles and some images, but nothing that really grabbed me right away.

So, I started clicking around. I opened a few of the image results, and looked at some of the articles. It was a mix of stuff – some modern articles talking about the history, and some older-looking scans of newspapers and stuff.
I found that, the story behind is very impressive. Ben Chapman, as manager of the Phillies, was notoriously awful to Jackie Robinson when Robinson broke the color barrier in baseball. Like, really, really awful. Lots of racist slurs and just general ugliness.
But then, things changed. At some point that I'm trying to get detail, Chapman and Robinson posed together for a photo. It's often presented as this moment of reconciliation, a sign that Chapman had seen the error of his ways.
Deeper research
I spend hours to get a clear image, but those all are blur and not good. I have to try serveral keywords to find the right image and story.
- I tried "Ben Chapman Jackie Robinson apology photo".
- I searched for "Ben Chapman Jackie Robinson 1947 photo".
- I looked specifically for images from Ebbets Field, where some of the incidents happened.
I keep searching until I found the clearest image and saved it to my computer, and I can use it anytime I want.
I think this is enough for today's search practice, I have my conclusion and picture, maybe next time I'll try to find a better resolution.
