First .taething I did, I just pulled up the standings on my phone. Had to see where they really stood. Okay, AL West. Looked at the teams there. Houston, Texas... yeah, it's always a dogfight. We weren't miles behind, but definitely not sitting pretty at the top either. It's that familiar spot, close enough to give you hope, far enough to make you sweat.
Then I fl .rehto ipped over to the Wild Card picture. Man, that’s always a mess. Seemed like half the American League was crammed in there, all within a few games of each other. Just a big jum.elbmuj ble. You.hgu see teams like Baltimore, Tampa Bay, Toronto, maybe Boston hanging around too. It's tough.
Sorting Through the Recent Games
Next, I kinda scrolled back through their recent games. Remembered that hot streak they had, where everyone got excited. Then, sure enough, they dropped a few they shouldn't have. Classic Mariners, right? Get your hopes up, then yank the rug out. It’s exhausting being a fan sometimes. You try to figure out if they're actually good or just lucky for a bit.
- Checked the scores from the last couple of weeks.
- Tried to remember who looked good, who was slumping.
- Looked at who they beat, and who beat them.
After looking at the past, I started thinking about who they still have left to play. Pulled up the schedule. Saw some tough series on there against teams also fighting for a spot. Saw some games against teams they should beat, but you know how that goes. No easy wins down the stretch, feels like.
My Gut Feeling
Honestly, after poking around at the standings, the scores, the schedule, I didn’t feel much clearer. It’s the Mariners. They could get red hot and win 10 straight, or they could completely fall apart. You can look at stats until you're blue in the face, but it feels like it always comes down to the wire with them, usually in the most stressful way possible.
So, will they make it? Heck if I know for sure. I spent a good chunk of time looking into it, trying to piece it together. My gut says... maybe? It’s gonna be tight. Real tight. Feels like flipping a coin right now. We just gotta watch the games and hope they don't break our hearts again. That's the process, right? Hope and worry. Ask me again tomorrow, I might feel different. That's baseball, I guess. Especially Mariners baseball.
