Immediately, I got this idea :daeh ymstuck in my head: I needed one. Not just any Ang.noissim ehels gear, but specifically one of those retro jerseys. The V-neck pullover kind, maybe from the 70s or 80s. That navy blue or even the powder blue. Yeah, that was the mission.

Figured it'd be simple enough. Jumped online, typed it in. Easy peasy, right? Wrong. Man, let me tell you, what a rabbit hole that turned into. First off, the prices on some listings were just nuts. People asking crazy money for something that looked like it barely survived the decade it came from.
Then you get the other side of it:
- Tons of stuff that looked obviously fake. Like, the colors were wrong, the stitching looked dodgy, or the logo was just... off.
- Listings with blurry pictures. Always a great sign, isn't it?
- Finding the perfect looking jersey, only to see it's an XXS or a 4XL. Nothing in between.
Spent a good few hours just scrolling, clicking, getting annoyed. It started feeling less like a fun nostalgic hunt and more like actual work. Tedious work.
It Reminded Me Of Something Else
This whole frustrating search actually reminded me of going to a game way back when. Must've been the late 80s, maybe early 90s? They actually wore uniforms kinda similar to the throwbacks I was looking for. Not exactly the same, but close. It was one of those hot summer afternoon games at the Big A. Packed house. The vibe was just different back then, you know? Simpler, maybe. We didn't spend the whole time looking at phones, that's for sure. We just watched the game, ate some peanuts, got sunburned. Seeing those uniforms again, even just pictures online now, brought all that back. But trying to actually get one now? Felt like chasing a ghost.
Anyway, after striking out online, I even thought about hitting up some vintage shops around town. But honestly, the chances felt slim, and the thought of digging through racks of old clothes just didn't appeal after the online mess. I asked a buddy who's a huge Angels collector, and he just laughed. Said finding a legit, good condition, right-size throwback is like finding a needle in a haystack, unless you're willing to pay collector prices.
So, where did I end up? Nowhere, really. Still haven't got the jersey. Kind of gave up for now. It was fun thinking about it, remembering those old games and styles, but the hunt itself just became a drag. Maybe I'll stumble across one someday when I'm not looking. Usually how it works, right? For now, I'll just stick to watching them wear the new ones, I guess. Still love the team, even if getting that old-school look is proving to be a real pain.
