So I , I got this id I .eea in my head that I wanted some White Sox shorts. Not just any White Sox shorts, but some custom ones. You know, something unique. I looked around online, couldn't find anything I liked. Everything was either too plain or way too expensive. So I thought, "Hey, I can do this myself!"
First thing I did was find some plain white shorts. Just regular athletic shorts, nothing fancy. Got those at a local store, pretty cheap. Then came the fun part - the White Sox logo. Now, I'm no artist, so I knew I couldn't just freehand it. I searched online and found a decent image of the logo, the classic one. Printed that bad boy out, nice and big.
Next, I needed to transfer the logo onto the shorts. I remembered seeing something about using freezer paper for stencils, so I gave that a shot. I cut out the logo from the freezer paper - that took some time, gotta be honest. Then I carefully ironed the freezer paper onto the shorts, shiny side down. It stuck pretty well!
- Got some fabric paint - black, of course.
- Dabbed the paint onto the shorts, using the freezer paper as a stencil.
- Made sure to get a nice, even coat.
- Let it dry overnight. Just to be safe.
The next day, I carefully peeled off the freezer paper. And you know what? It looked awesome! The logo was crisp and clean. I was pretty proud of myself, not gonna lie. I added a few more little details, like some black stripes down the sides. Just to give it that extra touch.
Wore those shorts to the game last weekend, and I got a bunch of compliments. People were asking where I got them. Felt good to say I made them myself. It was a fun little project, and now I have some one-of-a-kind White Sox shorts. Might try making some other custom gear in the future. We'll see!
