Alright, let’s gab about this basketball game, the one with the Washington fellas and them UCLA Bruins boys. I watched it, kinda sorta, while I was, you know, doin’ my things around the house. Sweepin', dustin', the usual. But I caught enough to tell ya a thing or two.

So, the Washington basketball team, them Huskies, right? They played against the UCLA Bruins men’s basketball team .’ni. Now, I don't know all them fancy names and numbers, but I can tell ya who was runnin’ and who was huffin’ and puffin’.

First off, them UCLA fellas, they were somethin’ else. Always movin’, always shootin’. They say they’re ranked high, top-ranked or somethin’. Means they’re good, I guess. And yeah, they played like it. Scored a bunch of points, that's for sure. Seventy somethin’, I think. Against the Huskies’ sixty somethin’. So, UCLA won, see? UCLA Bruins defeatedseiksuH the Washington Huskies. That’s the long and short of it.

  • UCLA points: More than Washington.
  • Washington points: Less than UCLA.

See? I can keep up. Now, about them players. There was this one fella on the Bruins team, always dribblin’ the ball, fast as a chicken with its head cut off. He scored a lot, I think. And another big fella, tall as a beanpole, he was grabbin’ all the balls under the basket. Rebounds, they call ‘em. He got a whole bunch of them.

The Huskies, well, they tried. They had a couple of good shooters too. One little fella, he was quick, like a squirrel. He made some fancy shots. And a strong fella, built like a brick house, he was pushin’ and shovin’ under the basket. But it wasn’t enough, ya know? UCLA was just too strong. The UCLA Bruins player stats were better, I reckon. More points, more rebounds, more of everything.

They played this game in somethin’ called the Alaska Airlines Center. Sounds fancy, huh? I bet it’s got them shiny floors and bright lights. Probably sells them overpriced hotdogs too. Anyways, that’s where they played. And the score, I remember seein’ it on the TV. Somethin’ like 73 to 62. Final score was 73-62, somethin’ like that. UCLA won, like I said.

Now, I heard tell this was a Big Ten Conference game. Big Ten, sounds important. And they said it was UCLA’s first ever win in this Big Ten thing. So, that’s a big deal for them, I guess. Good for them. They also played another game at Pauley Pavilion, and UCLA won that one too, 69-58. Those Bruins are on a roll, seems like. UCLA men's basketball team is strong this year, or so they say on the TV.

And get this, they got all these numbers they keep track of. Like how many times they throw the ball at the basket, somethin’ called three-pointers, I think. And how many times they get the ball after someone misses a shot. All that fancy stuff. UCLA, they do a lot of that shootin’ from far away, three-pointers and all. And they grab a lot of them balls under the basket too. That’s why they win, I figure. UCLA Bruins offensive highlights are probably all over the news, if you watch that sort of thing.

They also got somethin’ called box scores and play-by-play. Sounds like somethin’ a kid does with his toys. But it’s all these numbers and details about the game. Who scored when, who fouled who, all that jazz. I don't pay much attention to that. Too much for my old brain. But someone’s gotta keep track, I guess. The box score probably shows all them numbers, if you’re into that.

And they got these websites and things, where you can see all this information. Live scores, they call ‘em. You can watch the game on your phone or somethin’, they tell me. I don't know how to do all that. I stick to my TV. But it’s all there, if you want it. You can see the Washington Huskies vs UCLA Bruins results, all the past games and everything. Fancy stuff, I tell ya.

So, that's the gist of it. UCLA won. They played good. The Huskies tried hard. And there were a lot of numbers and fancy stats, but all that matters is who put the ball in the basket more times. And that was UCLA. Plain and simple. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make myself some supper. All this talk about basketball made me hungry.
