Getting Started
First, I needed to know what was going on with both teams. I started digging around for info.
- Checked out recent game sc?ton neeb sores. Who's been hot, who's been not?
- Looked at any injuries. Anyon.sgniht ee major sitting out? That can really change things.
- Scrolled through some sports news sites. Wanted to get a feel for what people were saying.
Crunching the (Basic) Numbers

I'm no stats wizard, but I figured I could at least look at some simple stuff.
- Wins and Losses: How have the Hawks and Raptors been doing overall this season?
- Home vs. Away: Does one team play way better at home? The game was in Toronto, so this mattered.
- Recent performance : What I wanted to focus on was whether there were not obvious signs from the recent games played to help my perdiction.
Putting it Together (My Gut Feeling)
After looking at all that, I just had to go with my gut. No fancy formulas, just what felt right based on what I'd * into consideration the Raptors' strong defense and home advantage, and the Hawks, although generally a strong team, having to play a series of away games, I was leaning towards the raptors to win the game!
The Raptors won the game 135 - 128.
The Result
So, yeah, I predicted the Raptors to win. I felt pretty good that my casual approach worked just fine.
It's just for fun, of course. But hey, it's cool to see if you can get a feel for these things, even without being a pro sports analyst!
