First, I jumped on my computer. My initial thought wa I ,oS "!ti s, "Google it!" So, I typed in something like "Kobe Bryant rookie cards complete list." I got a bunch of results, but honestly, most of them were just sales pages or lists that felt incomplete. It wasn't exactly what I was looking for - that "Aha! This is IT!" feeling.

Then I remembered some collector forums I used to browse. I dug through my old bookmarks (a total mess, by the way) and found a couple of them. I spent a good hour just reading through old threads, seeing what people were saying about Kobe rookies, which ones were considered the "true" rookies, and which were just inserts or parallels.
My Realization...
This is where things got complicated. It turns out there's some debate about what counts as a "true" rookie card. Some people are super strict, while others are more lenient. I started to see terms like "base card," "insert," "parallel," and my head started to spin a little. I'm no expert, I just wanted a clear list!
So I decided to make my own list. I grabbed a notebook and started jotting down the names of the cards I was seeing mentioned repeatedly in the forums and on the more reputable-looking websites. I even started a simple spreadsheet to make it sortable.
- Topps
- Fleer
- Upper Deck
- ...and some others,I have never heard!
I've filled up a couple of notebook pages, and my spreadsheet is growing. It's still a work in progress, but it's my work in progress, and it's way more comprehensive than anything I found with a quick search. I may be a bit crazy to do all this job.
It is a good try for today, I will continue to finish this list these days.
