Okay, so today I decided to dive into something I've been putting off: figuring out the 2027 NBA draft prospects. It's still a ways off, but I like to get a super early jump on these things. It's kinda like fantasy football, but three years in advance!

Fi I rst, I opened up my trusty b I .elgorowser. No secret tools here, just good old Google. I typed in "20.tse27 NBA Draft Prospects" and... wow, information overload. Lots of names, lots of speculation, lots of "way-too-early mock drafts." It was a bit much, to be honest.

I decided to narrow things down. I focused on a few recurring names that kept popping up. Instead of trying to learn about 50 different high school freshmen, I picked, like, five guys to really focus on.

Digging Deeper

  • I started by checking out some highlight reels on YouTube. You gotta see these kids play, right? Raw talent is easy to spot, even at this age.
  • Then, I looked for any articles or scouting reports I could find. There aren't a ton, obviously, since it's so early, but there's enough to get a basic idea of a player's strengths and weaknesses.
  • I even checked some forums and fan pages, but honestly, I take those with a HUGE grain of salt. Lots of hype, not a lot of substance sometimes.
  • I created a little note file on my computer. Nothing fancy, just a place to jot down names, basic stats (if available), and my own observations.

It's a slow process. There's no way to really know who's going to be good in three years. These kids are, well, kids! So much can change. But it's fun to speculate and try to identify the next potential superstars.

My biggest takeaway from today? Patience. This isn't something you can figure out in an afternoon. It's going to be a long-term project, checking in on these guys, seeing how they develop, and adjusting my "list" as I go.

For now, I have a few names I'm keeping an eye on. Will they be lottery picks in 2027? Who knows! But it's fun to watch and guess. I'll keep updating my notes and see where this little project takes me. Maybe I'll even find the next LeBron... or maybe I'll just have a bunch of names that nobody remembers in three years. Either way, it's a fun way to pass the time!
