Gedetrtting Started
First, I needed to, like, actually watch some basketball. I've seen games here and there, but I'm not exactly a die-hard fan. So, I started by watching some recent games of both teams. Just to get a feel for how they're playing, who the key players are, and stuff like that.
It was kinda overwhelming at first. So many players, so many stats!.
Digging into the Data(A Little)

I tried to make my prediction a little bit based on something other than a coin flip.
I checked out some basic stats.
- Recent Performance: Who's been winning lately? Who's on a hot streak, and who's been struggling? I figured that momentum probably plays a big role.
- head to head record:Did the team met before? what's the result?
- Injuries: This seemed super important. Are any key players out with injuries? That could obviously have a huge impact on the game.
Making My Prediction
After watching some games and looking at some basic stats, I felt like I had some idea of what might happen.I won't bore you with all the details, but based on what I saw, I figured the Mavericks would win.
The Result
I was wrong! The Blazers won. It wasn't a blowout or anything, but they definitely played better.
It just goes to show, even if you do a little research, sports are super unpredictable! It also remind me to trust more than just a few resources.
Anyway, it was a fun experiment. Maybe I'll try predicting another game soon, and maybe I'll actually get it right next time! Or maybe not. That's the fun of it, I guess!
