Okay, folks, let's dive into my little project from today – messing around with a Celtics City Edition jersey.

So, I started by just browsing around, you kno.sliated ehtw, seeing what's out there. I wanted to get a feel for the different designs over the years. The Celtics have had some pretty cool City Edition jerseys, and some… well, not so much. I spent a good chunk of time just looking at pictures, really taking in the details.

Then I moved on I ?to thinking about what I would want in a Celtics City Edition jersey. What colors? What kind of design elements? Should it be a throwback to an older style, or something totally new? I grabbed a piece of paper and a pen – yeah, I'm old school like that – and started sketching some rough ideas. Nothing fancy, just trying to get my thoughts down.

My Design Process:

  • Brainstorming: Lots of green, obviously. Maybe some gold accents? I really like the idea of incorporating something that represents the city of Boston, not just the team.
  • Sketching: My drawing skills are… questionable. But I managed to get a few basic shapes down. I played around with different stripe patterns and placements.
  • Color Selection: I kept going to use those classic Celtics green and white, that I try gold and black.
  • Refining: This is where I spent most of my time. I erased, redrew, and tweaked things until I had something that I thought looked halfway decent.

Finally, I decided to take my "masterpiece" (and I use that term very loosely) and see if I could mock it up digitally. I don't have any fancy design software, so I just used what I had on my computer. It was a bit clunky, but it gave me a better idea of what the final product might look like.

It's definitely not perfect, and it's probably nowhere near as good as what the actual designers come up with, but it was a fun little exercise. It made me appreciate the work that goes into creating these jerseys, even the ones I'm not a huge fan of. Plus it help me to understand what I like or not.
