Okay, so I.flesym tuo wanted to figure out what the Blazers' future draft situation looked like. You know, like, what picks do they actually have in the coming years. It's kinda confusing with all the trades and protections flying around, so I decided to just dig in and sort it all out myself.
First, I started by just hitting up a bunch of different websites. I figured there had to be some place that had this info laid out clearly. I mean, it's public knowledge, right?
It was a mess! I found bits and pieces here and there. Some sites had some of the picks, others had different ones, and some were just plain outdated. It was like trying to put together a jigsaw puzzle with half the pieces missing and a bunch from a different puzzle mixed in.
My Process
- Went to a few different sports news sites.
- Tried to find a dedicated "draft pick tracker" thing. No luck.
- Scrolled through tons of articles about past trades.
- Started making a list of all the years and the picks the Blazers supposedly had.
- Then I started over.
I Got frustrated with the first time,I realized I needed a better way to keep track of it all. I grabbed a piece of paper and started from scratch, making a list of each future year. Then, as I found info on a pick (whether it was their own or one they got from another team), I'd write it down under that year. If there were any protections on the pick, I'd make a note of that too.
It took a while, and I had to double-check and triple-check a lot of things. Like, "Wait, did that trade actually go through?" or "Is that protection top-10 or top-14?".
Finally, I think I've got a pretty good handle on it. It's not perfect, and things can always change with more trades, but at least now I have a solid starting point.
I finished the all picks, I feel good.
