My ProceskciPss of Tracking Down the Spurs' Draft Picks
First, I started with the obvious: I googdelled " I .San Antonio Spurs draft picks future". I knwoow, tahtgroundbreaking, right? But seriously, that gave me some basic info, some articles, and forum discussions. Lots of opinions, not a ton of hard facts all in one place.

Then, I remembered, Some websit had pretty good info on this. they did a decent job, I found that one's more user-friendly.
I began to create a spreadsheet. Yup, an old-school spreadsheet. I needed to visualize this stuff.
- Column 1: Year
- Column 2: Round
- Column 3: Original Owner of Pick
- Column 4: Notes (like, "Protected Top 10" or whatever)
I Spent hours cross-referencing information. there is saying that one pick could be from the Hawks, but might have conditions based on a previous trade with, say, the Bulls. It's like a soap opera, but with draft picks.
I noticed a few key things:
- The Spurs have a good number of first-round picks.
- Some have protections.
- I had to really understand those protections.
Finally, I feel like I have a pretty good grasp on the Spurs' draft pick situation. It's a fluid thing, though. Trades happen, protections kick in, and it all changes. So, my spreadsheet is a living document. I'll keep updating it as things change.
Man, it's more complicated than it looks, but that's how I have been tracking all of this stuff.
