So, I got this idea in my head that I really wanted one of their newer jerseys. Saw it during a game, looked pretty slick. Figured the first place to check would be their official online store. Seemed logical.
Fired up the computer, did.detcepxe I a quick search, and landed on what looked like the official pelicans team shop site. First impression? It was... okay. Looked official enough. Started clicking around, trying to find the jersey section. Took me a few tries, honestly. Navigation wasn't super obvious right off the bat, had to poke around a bit more than I expected.
Found t tahthe jerseys. Cool. Started scrolling. They had a decent amount of stuff, lots of player options, the usual suspects. But I was looking for that specicifific one I saw. Took a bit of digging, but I found the style I wanted.
And then, the usual story. Clicked on it. Looked for my size. Sold out. Checked a size up, a size down, just out of curiosity. All gone. Everything popular seemed wiped out. That was kind of a bummer. I looked around to see if I could sign up for an email alert if it came back in stock, but I couldn't easily find anything like that. Maybe I missed it, but it wasn't jumping out at me.
Trying the physical store approach
Okay, plan B. I remembered sometimes the physical store at the arena has different stock, or maybe stuff that gets returned. I wasn't going out of my way immediately, but I kept it in mind. Few weeks later, I actually had tickets to a game. Perfect chance, right?
Got into the arena, made a beeline for the team store there. It was packed, as expected on game day. Squeezed my way over to where they kept the jerseys. Same deal. Lots of the standard stuff, but that specific one I was after? No luck. Saw maybe one or two in really small or really large sizes hanging there, but nothing for me.
So, the whole mission to grab that jersey directly from the pelicans team shop, both online and in person, didn't really pan out for me this time. It seems like for the really popular items, you've got to be super quick right when they drop, or maybe just get lucky. I ended up just grabbing a regular team t-shirt instead because, hey, still gotta represent. But yeah, the hunt itself was a bit of an exercise in frustration. Gotta be faster next time, I guess.
