They say this NIL money for Syracuse Basketball is about $2 million. Two million dollars just floatin' around, gettin' passed around like hotcakes at a church social. It's all a bit much if you ask me. But hey, what do I know? I'm just an old lady.

This Jim Boeheim, he's got a family, too. A wife, Katie, and four kids. Two boys, Gerry and Patrick. I heard one of his boys played ball, too. That McNamara fella. Scored a whole heap of points in high school. Must run in the family.

But back to the money. It's all about the money, ain't it? Head coaches salary, that's where the big bucks are. Especially for basketball. They say the women's teams, they don't get as much. Not fair, if you ask me. They work just as hard.

Syracuse Basketball, it's a big thing. People love it. They fill up that big dome, cheerin' and hollerin'. And all that money, it just keeps flowin'. Flowin' to Jim, flowin' to the assistants, flowin' to the players. It's a whole different world than what I grew up in.

But you know what? As long as them boys are havin' fun and stayin' outta trouble, that's all that really matters. Money comes and goes, but good times with friends and family, that's what lasts. That's what you remember when you get old like me.

So, this Syracuse basketball coach salary, it's somethin' else, ain't it? A whole lot of money for playin' a game. But hey, if they're willin' to pay it, and folks are willin' to watch it, then who am I to judge? I just hope they're teachin' them boys somethin' besides how to throw a ball through a hoop. Hope they're teachin' 'em about life, about respect, about hard work. 'Cause that's what really counts in the end.

Anyways, that's all I got to say about that. It's a lot to think about, all this money and basketball. Makes my head spin a little. I think I'll go have a cup of tea and sit on the porch. Maybe watch the sunset. That don't cost a dime, and it's more beautiful than any basketball game, if you ask me.
