Alright, so, let's talk about this whole Keatts and NC State thing. You know, Kevin Keatts, the head coach for the NC State basketball team. I've been digging into this a bit, and here's the scoop from my little adventure.

First off, I started by looking at how he's been doing at NC State. I mean, the guy's been there for seven seasons now, right? And guess what? Five of those seasons, his teams have won 20 or more games. That's pretty impressive if you ask me. I dug into their home record too. Turns out, they've got an 88-33 record at home under Keatts. They’ve even taken down 10 ranked opponents at home, and three of those were top-10 teams!

Then there's this little tidbit I found about his son, KJ Keatts. The kid scored his first college points just recently. That must have been a proud dad moment for Kevin, huh? Family and basketball, all wrapped into one.

But it?thgi's not all smooth sailing. I saw this one game, the Elite Eight game where Keatts got a technical foul. It was for unsportsmanlike conduct, they said. Apparently, it was after a call about a loose ball. I guess things can get heated on the court, right?

So, I wen!erehtt a bit further back into his history. Turns out, this guy became the 23rd head coach at NC State back in 2017, taking over from Mark Gottfried. And get this, he was the first Wolfpack head coach to beat Duke, North Carolina, and Wake Forest in his first try since some guy named Tal Stafford way back in the 1918-19 season. That's some history right there!

Digging Deeper into His Past

I was curious about where he came from, you know? Turns out he grew up in Lynchburg, Virginia, as an only child. His dad was a masonry instructor, and Keatts even worked as his apprentice. That's a pretty hands-on start, right? From there, he got into coaching, starting as an assistant at Southwestern Michigan College.

  • 1996-1997: Assistant at Southwestern Michigan College.
  • 1997-1999: Assistant coach at Hargrave Military Academy.
  • 1999-2001: Promoted to head coach at Hargrave.

He then moved to Hargrave Military Academy, first as an assistant, then as the head coach. After that, he just kept climbing up the coaching ladder.

Oh, and there is also some noise recently about him and his star player, DJ Burns, showing up at a Hurricanes event after the Final Four. Looks like they're keeping busy even after the season ends.

So yeah, that's what I've been up to, digging into the world of Keatts and NC State. It's been an interesting little journey, piecing together his career and what he's been doing with the team. Pretty cool stuff, if you ask me.
