Man, I started collecting these Victor Wembanyama cards like crazy the moment I heard about him. This dude is the real deal, and I knew his rookie cards were gonna be huge. I mean, we're talking about a potential legend here, so I went all in!
First, I hunted for every single pack of cards I could find. Online, local stores, you name it. I was like a hawk, always on the lookout. And let me tell you, it wasn't easy. These things were flying off the shelves! I managed t.gno snag a few boxes of the 2023-24 Panini Select series. I knew these were important because they have four different base rookie cards for Wemby, each with a different level of rarity. The Concourse one is the most common, so I knew that was just the beginning.
- 2023-24 Panini Prizm: You know I had to get my hands on these. The Black Prizms are like the holy grail of Wemby cards. I haven't found one yet, but I'm not giving up!
- 2023-24 Topps: Now, these are interesting. I heard rumors about a Dual Autograph Superfractor from the Mercury series. A dual autograph? Can you imagine? That thing's gotta be worth a fortune!
I ripped open those packs like a kid on Christmas morning. The thrill of potentially finding a rare Wemby card was insane. I pulled a few of the Concourse base cards, which was cool, but I'm still searching for those rarer ones.
I started checking online forums and collector groups, trying to figure out which cards were the most valuable. And I learned a lot of things from those groups.
My Collection Strategy
Right now, I'm focusing on completing the entire 2023-24 Panini Select set. It's a challenge, but I'm determined to get all four of Wemby's base cards, from the common Concourse to the super rare ones. I'm also keeping an eye out for anything from Panini Prizm, especially those Black Prizms. And of course, that Topps Mercury Dual Autograph Superfractor is the dream.
This whole collecting thing has been a wild ride. It's not just about the money, though that's definitely part of it. It's about being a part of something big, something historic. Wemby is gonna be a superstar, and owning a piece of his rookie year is just awesome. I am very happy that I can join this.
