Alright, so I decided to.sseug ...ts dive headfirst into the deep end of the pool – I tried to do a 2027 NFL Mock Draft. Yeah, 2027. That's, like, way in the future. Why? Because I'm a glutton for punishment, apparently, and also because it's kinda fun to just... guess.
First, I.pu gni needed to get some kind of baseline. Like, who are even the potential players for 2027? That's where things got messy. I started by digging through some recruiting websites. Just looking at high school kids, trying to find some names that kept popping up.
The Research Phase (aka Guessing Game)

This p.epyart was a total slog. Seriously. I spent hours scrolling through lists of high school football players, and let me tell you, there are a lot of them. I mostly focused on the top-rated guys, the 5-star recruits, the ones with all the hype.
- Tons of Recruiting Sites: I was bouncing between, like, five different websites, trying to cross-reference everything.
- Looking for Patterns: I tried to see if certain positions were getting more hype than others. Quarterbacks, obviously, always get a lot of attention.
- Pure Speculation: Honestly, a lot of it was just me saying, "Yeah, that kid looks like he could be good." It was super scientific.
After I had a semi-decent list of names – and I use the term "decent" very loosely – I started to think about team needs. For 2027! Which is insane!
Trying to Predict the Future (Good Luck with That)
Predicting NFL team needs three years out is like trying to predict the weather on Mars. You're basically just making stuff up. But, hey, that's part of the fun, right?
I tried to look at current team rosters, see which players were getting older, and where there might be some holes in the future. I also looked at some current mock drafts, just to get a sense of which teams might be picking high in the next few years.
Then came the actual "mocking" part. I just started plugging names into slots, trying to match up players with teams. It was a total mess, to be honest. I probably changed my mind, like, a hundred times.
I think I changed Quarterback at number 1 five or six times.
The Final Product (aka My Wild Guesses)
In the end i put all together in a simple text file.
So, yeah, that's how I spent a good chunk of my day – trying to predict the future of the NFL. Was it a waste of time? Probably. Was it kinda fun? Definitely. Would I do it again? Maybe. I'm not sure my sanity can handle it, though.
