First, I headed ov I ?er to the team's official website. It's usually the most reliable source, right? I clicked around a bit, looking for the "Roster" link. Sometimes it's tucked away in a menu, other times it's right there on the homepage.
Once I found it, I started by just scrolling through. I like to get a feel for the overall layout. Are they sorted by position? Jersey number? Year in school?
Parsing the Roster
- Checked the player names. Making a mental note of any familiar ones, and looking out for any freshmen or transfers that might be interesting to watch this season.
- Looked at the positions. Get a handle on what players are listed at.
- Scanned the heights and weights. Just curious to see the physical makeup of the team. Any really big linemen? Speedy receivers?
- Noted the hometowns. Always fun to see where the players are coming from.
After my initial scan, I went back and focused on specific positions. Quarterbacks, running backs, the key guys. I was interested in, who's likely to be the starter? Who are the backups?.
And that's pretty much it! It's not rocket science, just taking the time to really look at the roster and get familiar with the players. Now I feel a little more prepared for the upcoming season. I enjoy checking team member lists and getting a feel for the dynamics. I'm ready to cheer them on!
