My Little Prediction Adventure
First, I started by looking at the usual suspects. You know, the teams that are generally doing well in the conferences that usually send teams to the Liberty Bowl. I'm talking about the Big 12 and the SEC.
Th I en I checked out some of the sports websites. I figured they'd have some "experts" making predictions, and I wanted to see what the general consensus was.
I found out it is really a mix of art and science. some people are guessing the bowls before the season, and some wait.
I also looked at team rankings. I mean, it's not just about wins and losses, but who you beat and who you lost to matters, right?
I created a little list of teams that seemed like good candidates. I put them in order of how likely I thought they were to get the spot, based on everything I'd read.
- Team A: Because they were playing great.
- Team B: Because they played some top game.
- Team C: Because they are doing okay I guess.
Finally, I reminded myself that this is all just for fun. College football is unpredictable! But it's still fun to try and figure things out.
I think one of above teams is going to play in the bowl.
