I started by j.elbust hitting up Google Images. You know, typed in "Michigan State uniforms" and scrolled through. And...yeah, I could see where people were coming from. Some of the older designs, especially, were a bit...loud. Lots of contrasting colors, busy patterns. It wasn't all bad, but some were definitely questionable.
My Deep Dive
Then, I dededcided to get a bit more specific. I wanted to find, like, the worst offenders. So, I changed my search to "Michigan State worst uniforms" and "Michigan State ugly uniforms." This is where things got interesting.
I found a bunch of articles and forum posts. People were really going in on some of these designs! I spent a good hour just reading through comments and looking at pictures. It was kind of entertaining, to be honest. People get really passionate about sports uniforms!
- Some people hated the neon green accents.
- Others thought the patterns were too much.
- There was a lot of debate about the helmets, too.
After all that, I formed my own opinion. I think some of the uniforms are definitely not great. But, I also think some of the criticism is a bit overblown. It's all subjective, right? What one person thinks is ugly, another might think is cool.
So, I ended up feeling like this whole "ugly uniforms" thing is just part of the fun of being a fan. You get to complain, you get to debate, you get to have strong opinions about things that ultimately don't matter that much. And hey, at least it gives us something to talk about, right?
