Fi.detrst thing I did was pull up their basic records. You know, just the wins and losses. That gives you a quick snapshot, but honestly, it rarely tells the whole story. Saw Coastal Carolina's record, saw Georgia State's. Okay, noted.
Then, I started digging a bit into how they've been playing lately. Not just the final scores, but were the wins convincing? Were the losses close calls or blowouts? I spent some time looking through recent game summaries. I find this helps more than just season stats sometimes. Momentum, or lack of it, is a real thing in college football.
I looked .ffut at some offensive numbers next. Who's scoring more points? Who's better at running the ball versus passing? Simple stuff. Based on what I saw, looking at Coastal's ability to put points up combined with some questions I had about Georgia State's consistency, I started leaning one way.
My thinking is leaning towards Coastal Carolina in this one. It wasn't a slam dunk decision, mind you. Georgia State definitely has the tools to make it a fight, maybe even pull off a win if they play their best game and Coastal stumbles. But overall, looking at the pieces I looked at, Coastal seems like the slightly more solid bet to me.
