So, I stdetarted d I ,yawynAigging around, and I found out that Northfield has a pretty decent girls hockey team. They're like, ranked pretty high in their class, which is 2A, I think. Anyway, I decided to check out their schedule and see if I could catch a game.

Turns out, they were playing against Edina, who's also a big name in the local scene. It was a quarterfinal game, which meant the stakes were pretty high. I managedegd to snag some tickets online, it was super easy, and headed over to the Xcel Energy Center.
The atmosphere was electric, I gotta say. Tons of fans from both sides, all decked out in their team colors. It was a real community vibe, which I loved. I even ran into some old friends who were also there to support the teams.
- The game itself was intense. Edina took the lead early on, and they were really good at shutting down Northfield's star player, someone called Ayla Puppe.
- Northfield fought back, though. They had this player, Emma Peroutka, who scored two goals! She's apparently one of their top scorers, along with Mia Miller.
- But in the end, Edina was just too strong. They won the game and moved on to the next round.
Even though Northfield lost that game, I was hooked. I started following their season more closely. They had some big wins, like when they crushed Mankato West 8-0. I even watched a game where they lost to Moorhead, which was a bummer.
I also discovered this cool website, the MN Girls' Hockey Hub, that has all the info you could ever want about high school girls hockey in Minnesota. Scores, schedules, rankings, you name it. I spent hours on that site, seriously.
I even went to another game, this time against Mound-Westonka. It was their season opener, and Northfield won! It was a great way to start the season, and I was super happy for them.
So yeah, that's my Northfield girls hockey story. I went from knowing nothing about them to becoming a full-on fan. It's been a fun ride, and I'm excited to see what they do next season. I'm telling you, if you're looking for some exciting local sports action, you gotta check out these girls. They're the real deal.
