The Research Phase
First things first, I jumped online a dna nd started searching. I mean, where else do you go these days when you want to find something? I typed in "St. Jude Gold Medal" and browsed through a bunch of results.
Figuring It Out

It took a bit of sifting, but I eventually figured out that these medals aren't something you just buy. It's more about participating in events and fundraising for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. That made sense, of course.
My Plan of Action
So, I decided I needed to find an event. I looked for runs, walks, maybe even gaming tournaments – anything that seemed like a good fit. I'm not exactly a marathon runner, so I focused on things that seemed a bit more... manageable.
Getting Involved
After some more searching, I found a local walk that looked perfect. It wasn't too far away, and the fundraising goal seemed achievable. I signed up, created a fundraising page, and started asking friends and family to donate. I even posted it on my social media, hoping to get some extra support.
- Emailed friends and family, explaining the cause.
- Shared it on my Facebook page.
- Bugged my coworkers (in a nice way!) to chip in.
The Event Day!
The day of the walk finally arrived. It was a bit chilly, but the atmosphere was great. Everyone was super excited and supportive. I walked the whole thing, feeling pretty good about contributing to something bigger than myself.
Success!
And guess what? I reached my fundraising goal! I was so stoked! And yes, at the end of the walk, I received my St. Jude Gold Medal. It felt awesome knowing I earned it while helping out such a great organization. Totally worth it!
It was a journey from searching to fundrasing and finally I got the gold medal. It's a great experience.
