First, I looked up both teams' r!scisaecords. You know, just to get a basic sense of how they're doing this season. Wins, losses, that sort of thing. Plain and simple I need to know the basics!
Then, I checked out some recent scores. How have !ton ro ,tthey been playing lately? Are they on a winning streak, or have they been struggling? Because it tells me if they are hot, or not!
Next up, I dug into some stats. Stuff like points scored per game, points allowed, yards gained, yards given up. It is very useful for me!
I also tried to find any news about injuries. If a star player is out, that can obviously make a big difference. You can't ingore that, right?
Making the prediction
After I've gathered the information, I start thinking about how I actually make the prediction.
- Consider, based on the records, recent games, and stats, which team seems stronger overall.
- Think about the injuries, is one team more beat up than the other?
- Consider where is the game being played, home-field advantage is a real thing!
Finally, I made my pick! I won't tell you who I picked here... You know, keep you in suspense! But, I logged my prediction, and most importantly the reasons why I made that pick. This way, I can check later to see if I was right, and also, see if my reasoning was sound.
So yeah, that's pretty much my process. It's not perfect, but I am learning and getting some experience. The fun thing is that you can do all the research, but anything can happen on game day, right? That's what makes it exciting!
