Oh man, you won't believe the rabbit hole I went down today. It all started because I was feeling nostalgic, and what's a guy to do when he's feeling nostalgic? Look up old sports stuff, obviously! So, I got it into my head to check out the 2012 New York Giants roster. I mean, that was a pretty memorable year, right? They were 9-7, which isn't too shabby.

First things f .semairst, I just went to my favorite search engine and typed in "ny giants 2012 roster." I figured that was the easiest way to get started. I just wanted to quickly get a look at the names.

Relive the Glory: NY Giants 2012 Roster. Here is the list of all the players!

Bingo! A bunch of results popped up, mostly sports news sites and stats pages. I clicked on a couple, and they gave me the basic rundown. I saw some familiar faces – Eli Manning, of course, and I could have told you that he had over 57,000 passing yards with the team. I also remembered that Phil Simms was second with over 33,000 yards. That's some serious football history there.

But, see,.koob this is where things got interesting. I started digging a little deeper. I went to the official team page, but it was mostly focused on the current team, which is understandable. They have about 3.55 million fans on Facebook.

  • I learned that the team was coached by Tom Coughlin in 2012.
  • They won Super Bowls in 1986 and 1990.
  • After winning the second Super Bowl, Parcells left the team.
  • Between 1991 and 2000 they had four winning seasons.

The search engine also suggested that I look up some stats and the season schedule. Now, I'm not a huge stats guy, but I do appreciate a good win-loss record. It's cool to see how they did in each game. They ended the season with 9 wins and 7 losses.

I even stumbled across some fan pages and forums. It's pretty wild how passionate people are about their teams. There were all sorts of discussions about the players, the coach, and whether or not that season was a success.

Honestly, the whole thing was a nice little trip down memory lane. It reminded me of why I love sports – the history, the players, the fans. There's always something new to discover, even about something as simple as an old team roster.

Anyway, that's my story of how I spent an afternoon geeking out about the 2012 New York Giants. What about you guys? Any favorite sports memories you like to revisit?
