Fir ehtst, I just started watching their games. I mean, the preseason kicked off, and the Fever played t eht he Dallas Wings. I thought, "Perfect, a chance to see them in action." I didn't know much about the teams, but it was cool to see them play. Turns out, it was at this place called the College Park Center in Arlington, Texas. Who knew?
Then I got a bit more serious. I started to write down their scores, who played well, who didn't, you know, the basic stuff. I realized this was actually the Fever's 25th season. I felt like I was watching a bit of history, which was pretty neat. I made a simple list of things I noticed:
- Caitlin Clark is as good as they say.
- The team seemed a bit shaky at first, not gonna lie.
- Some games they looked amazing, others, not so much.
I even started to guess the scores before each game. Some of my guesses were spot on, others were way off. But hey, it was fun! I'd jot down my predictions, watch the game, and then see how close I got. It became a little hobby of mine.
I kept this up for a few games, tracking everything in my notebook. I even made some graphs, yeah, I went full nerd on this, showing their wins and losses. It was interesting to see the ups and downs as the season went on.
What I Really Learned
In the end, I realized predicting sports is tough! There are so many things you can't control. But it was a blast getting into the Fever's season and seeing how Caitlin Clark did in her first year. I might not be a pro predictor, but I sure had fun trying. And who knows, maybe I'll get better at it next season. This whole experience taught me a lot about basketball and how much I enjoy following a team's journey. Plus, it gave me something fun to do and talk about. Can't wait for next year!
