Well, let me tell ya 'bout them 2014 Ohio State football fellas, the Buckeyes, y'know? That was a season, I tell ya, a real humdinger! Don't rightly know all them fancy football words, but I watched them games, I did. They played real good, them boys.

The 2014 Ohio State Football Team, they were somethin' special. Folks was talkin' 'bout 'em all over. Heard tell they had a coach, Urreyban Meyer, a real smart fella, knew his football, that's for sure. He made them boys run and tackle and do all sorts of things. They had this "depth chart," they called it. Sounded like somethin' complicated, but I figured it was just a list of who played what. Like who was the main runner-guy, and who caught the balls, and who did the blockin' and tacklin'.

  • Quarterback: Now, the fella who threw the ball, they called him the "quarterback." We had a few of 'em, I think. Heard tell of a fella, J.T. Barrett, he was tough as nails, that one. Then there was Cardale Jones, big fella, threw that ball a country mile, he did. And Braxton Miller, he was quick, like a rabbit, that one. All good boys, all of 'em.
  • Running Back: Then there were the fellas who ran with the ball, the "running backs." Ezekiel Elliott, that's a name I remember. Boy, could he run! Fast as a greased pig, he was. Hard to catch, that's for sure. He ran for miles and miles, seemed like.
  • Receivers: And then there were the fellas who caught the ball, the "receivers." Don't rightly recollect all their names, too many of 'em. But they were good, always catchin' them balls that J.T. and Cardale threw. They’d run and jump and catch that ball, no matter what.
  • Defense: And then there were the fellas who stopped the other team, the "defense." Tough bunch, them. They'd hit hard and tackle them other fellas, stop 'em from scorin'. Heard tell of a fella, Joey Bosa, strong as an ox, he was. Nobody wanted to mess with him, I tell ya.

The 2014 Ohio State Buckeyes schedule, that was a tough one, I reckon. They played all sorts of teams, all over the place. They played Navy in Baltimore, won that one, they did. Then they played Virginia Tech at home, in Columbus. Lost that one, sadly. But they didn't let it get 'em down, them boys. They kept on fightin', kept on playin'.

Your Guide to the 2014 Ohio State Football Depth Chart

The 2014 Ohio State season stats, well, I don't understand all them numbers, but I heard they were good. They scored a lot of points, that's for sure. And they didn't let the other teams score too many. That’s how you win games, I reckon.

They had some close calls, them Buckeyes did. But they always seemed to pull it out, somehow. They had grit, them boys, real grit. They never gave up, no matter what. That’s what made ‘em special.

And you know what? They went on to win the whole darn thing! The College Football Playoff, they called it. Beat Alabama and then Oregon in the championship game. Made the whole state proud, they did. Folks were celebratin' in the streets, honkin' their horns and yellin'. It was somethin' else, I tell ya. A real sight to see.

The 2014 Ohio State football roster, it was full of talented fellas, that’s for sure. From the quarterback to the running backs, to the receivers, to the defense, they had good players everywhere. And they played together as a team, that’s what mattered most. They weren't just a bunch of individuals, they were a unit, a family, fightin' for each other.

So, that’s my take on the 2014 Ohio State football team. They were a special group, them Buckeyes. They worked hard, they played hard, and they won it all. And that’s all that matters, ain't it? They made us proud, them boys, real proud. And that's somethin' you can't take away from 'em, no sir.

Now, I might not know all them fancy football terms or the ins and outs of their plays, but I know a good team when I see one. And them 2014 Buckeyes, well, they were a darn good team, the best I ever did see. They showed the whole country what Ohio boys are made of, and that’s somethin’ to be proud of, I reckon.
